    October 3, 2015 - A USAF AC-130 attacked a hospital of Doctors Without Borders and killed at least 9 staff members and 13 patients. Link to the CENTCOM report on the incident.
    October 2, 2015 - A USAF C-130 crashed in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. The crash killed 6 Airmen and 5 civilian contractors.
    October 2, 2015 - Human error caused a C-130J to crash at Jalalabad. The crash killed 14.
    May 19, 2013 - A C-130J made a hard landing at Forward Operating Base Shank. It was damaged beyond repair, $20 million in parts were salvaged from the aircraft. The mishap was attributed to excess speed on landing.
    July 1, 2002 - an AC-130 attacked six suspected AAA sites. The AC-130 apparently killed 48 civilians and wounded 117 others.
    A USAF MC-130H, Serial Number 84-0475, of the 16th Special Operations Wing crashed on take-off in Afghanistan on June 12, 2002. There were three fatalities. SFC Peter P. Tycz II (USA), TSgt Sean M. Corlew (USAF), and SSgt Anissa A. Shero (USAF).
    A USMC KC-130R of the MART Squadron 352 crashed in Shamsi, Pakistan on January 9, 2002. All seven Marines on-board perished in the crash. Two bullets struck an MC-130H in the Philippines on 30 January, 2002.
    A USAF MC-130P crashed on February 13, 2002, no fatalities.

    An MC-130P Combat Shadow went to Senegal to support operations in Liberia.
    An MC-130P refueled three HH-60Gs during an infiltration mission.

    USAF C-130s flew US, British, and French troops into Macedonia.

    An MC-130 supported the rescue operation for the downed F-117A pilot. As of 11 April 1999 RAF C-130s have delivered 40 tons of supplies. An EC-130E dubed Commando Solo of the 193rd Special Operations Wing transmits to the Serbs. C-130 ABC3 aircraft supported a successful attack on an SA-6 site. A C-130 made a test landing on the Kukes airfield after it was upgraded by the UAE. AC-130s of the USAF 16th Special Operations Wing have started flying sorties against Yugoslavian forces on April 14. The US didn't mention their participation until 20 May. C-130s delivered 7,550 passengers and 3,865 tons of cargo as part of Operation Shining Hope.

    March 15, 2018 - An MC-130 Commando II and a USMC KC-130J refueled two HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters as part of a rescue operation where a sailor aboard the MSC Flavia was suffering from a life-threatening illness.

    December 1, 2016 - An LC-130 med-evaced Buzz Aldrin from the South Pole.
    May 2015 - Two USMC KC-130J Hercules aircraft supported Operation Sahayogi Haat.
    October 8, 2014 - A C-130J provided medical supplies to west Africa to support the fight against the Ebola outbreak.
    August 10, 2014 - A USAF Reserve WC-130J spotted a stricken 42' sailboat in the eye of Hurricane Julio. The U.S. Coast Guard rescued the 3 people on board.
    November 2013 - An RAF C-130 flew a relief mission to the Philippines.
    September 2013 - An MC-130 participated in the rescue and recovery efforts of two missing US Navy helicopter crew members in the Red Sea.
    June 2013 - C-130s fought the Black Forest fire in Southern California.
    April 4, 2013 - An HC-130 of the Alaskan Air National Guard was involved in the rescue of Tom Douglas.
    October 2012 - An RAF C-130 transported a patient from Glasgow to London.
    2012 - C-130s dropped over 2 million gallons of fire retardant for the season.
    June/July 2012 - 8 USAF C-130s flew fire supression missions in Colorado.
    2012 - Two pararescuemen jumped from an MC-130P with an inflatable boat to come to the aid of injured fishermen on a Chinese fishing boat. The fishermen were transported by a second MC-130P to MCAS Miramar.
    2012 - Two pararescuemen jumped from an HC-130 to reach a critically ill patient in a remote Alaskan village.
    February 4, 2012 - An MC-130P refueled two HH-60 helicopters that came to the aid of an ill sailor on the MCS Beijing.
    July 2011 - HC-130s search for a sailor missing from the USS Boxer.
    June - July 2011 - C-130s flew 242 sorties and dropped 609,960 gallons of retardent against fires in Arizona and New Mexico.
    April 2011 - C-130s fought Texas wildfires.
    March 5, 2011 - USAF C-130Js and USMC KC-130s airlifted 300 Egyptian citizens from Djerba, Tunisia to Egypt.
    March 3, 2011 - Two USAF C-130Js delivered humanitarian aid to Libyan evavuees.
    February 24, 2011 - An RAF C-130 evacuated 64 people and one dog from Lybia.
    December 2010 - C-130Js of the USAF dropped fire retardants on wildfires that broke out in Israel.
    August 2010 - Two C130s flew Pakistani flood relief flights.
    January 14, 2009 - A Special Ops MC-130H BEGAEN Capt. Daniel Santoro, a C-130 pilot won the Cheney Award. Captain Santoro's leadership and foresight led his squadron to successfully complete 29 missions, delivering 95 passengers and 211 tons of humanitarian aid to the war-torn country of Georgia, following an August 2008 Russian invasion.
    December 10, 2008 - An MC-130P refuled two HH-60G helicopters on a rescue mission where the life of a sailor on a cargo ship, off the coast of Ireland, was saved. The mariner was injured in a fall.
    November 5, 2008 - An LC-130 evauated a seriously injured member of an Australian Antarctic Division contingent.
    October 10, 2008 - A C-130 flew an aerial spray mission in Louisiana.
    September 2008 - A C-130 flew aerial spray missions in the wake of hurricane Ike.
    August 15, 2008 - Two USAF C-130s flew humanitarian aid to Georgia.
    May 12, 2008 - A USAF C-130 flew a relief mission to Burma.
    April 25, 2008 - An HC-130 refueled HH-60s during a rescue operation where six migrants were saved in the Gulf of Mexico.
    November 2007 - C-130s provided cyclone relief for Bangladesh.
    October 2007 - 2 x C-130s helped fight the California wild fires.
    July 17 - July 27, 2005 - C-130s and C-17s transported 680 troops and 14,500 pounds of cargo in support of UN operations in Darfur.
    July 6, 2005 - Marine Aerial Refueler Squadron 152 flew 250,000 mishap-free flight hours.
    July 2005 - 2 x C-130s from RAF Leuchars transported police and supplies from Scotland to England in support of the 7/7/5 attacks.
    June 2005 - A Coast Guard C-130 found Patrick Hannan who was in the ocean for 15 hours.

    January 11, 2005 - A USAF C-130 flew 50,000 empty sandbags during a flood in Nevada.
    December 2004 - 10 C-130s flew tsunami relief missions.
    October 28, 2004 - A C-130 flew 6,000 pounds of plastic sheeting to Niigata, Japan for earthquake relief.
    October 24, 2004 - Flight Mechanic PO1 Danny Rees spotted PO2 Gary Chavez. PO2 Chavez and PO1 Martin Mantz were in the waters for 19 hours after their pleasure boat sank.
    Two C-130s of the 86thAW, 43rdABW are airlifing troops and supplies into Sudan. C-130s transported 352 AfricanUnion troops and 118,000 pounds of cargo.
    A C-130 is broadcasting television signals into Cuba.
    September 6, 2004 - Two C-130s flew 36,000 pounds of supplies to aid the victims of the school attack in Beslan, Russia.
    August 26, 2004 - An HC-130 flew a mission to rescue the pilot of a Kolb Fire Star II ultralight in Alaska.
    A USCG HC-130 flew a Coastguard sailor with a medical emergency from Mexico to San Diego.
    July 31, 2004 - USAF Hurrican Hunter C-130s began flying missions for the season.
    July 23, 2004 - An HC-130 came to the aid of an injured Chinese fisherman 350mi. NE of St. Maarten.
    A C-130 supported a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation involving a shipwreck 25 miles from Puerto Rico.
    An HC-130 refuelled two HH-60s that rescued a civilian in a stricken 52' sail boat.
    May 2004 - A USAF C-130 of the 35th Airlift Squadron spotted a missing Micronesian Sailing Vessel. A USCG C-130 delivered food, water, and a radio to the six survivors. The USAF C-130 crew members were:

    March 1, 2004 - An HC-130 assisted in the rescue of Ted Greene, a crashed PA-15 pilot.
    February 29, 2004 - A USCG C-130 was involved in the rescue of the crew of the Bow Mariner.
    February 23, 2004 - A C-130 flew 50 US Marines to Port-au-Prince, Haiti
    A C-130 flew a critically ill newborn from Misawa AB to Kadena AB, Japan.
    Eight C-130s flew relief supplies into Iran for the earthquake victims.

    November 15, 2003 - A USCG HC-130 assisted in the capture of 1.5 tons of cocaine, 6 suspects, and a "go-fast" vessel.

    US Coast Guard C-130s searched for debris from the Space Shuttle Columbia in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida coast.
    A C-130 participated in the rescue of Mike Swann who took ill while on a Commercial Fishing Boat. The Rescue was on December 8, 2002.
    On November 17, 2002 a UN C-130, number ZS-J1Z, transported UN inspectors to Iraq.
    On October 18, 2002 the US Coast Guard dispatched a C-130 to the scence where two F/A-18s crashed.
    October 2002 four Royal Australian Air Force C-130s med-evaced wounded from a terrorist bombing in Indonesia.
    In October 2002 WC-130s flew Hurricane Hunter missions to track Hurricane Lili. Captain Robert Light was an aircraft commander for a mission on 10/2/2002. MSgt Deano Harrison was a dropsonde Systems Operator for a 10/2/2002 mission. A WC-130 that flew a 10/3/2002 mission had the tail number 50968. The 53rd Weather Recconnaisance Sq flew these missions.
    On September 25, 2002 three C-130s transported 200 US Army troops to Ghana so they could protect American children during a coup attempt in the Ivory Coast. On 26 September a C-130 flew the American children out of the Ivory Coast.
    On September 6, 2002 a USMC KC-130 refueled two USAF Pave Hawk helicopters during a rescue operation that rescued two men from a 30' yacht in the North Atlantic.
    On July 13 & 14, 2002 C-130s of the 145th AW, North Carolina ANG, dropped 200,000 gallons of fire retardent.
    An AC-130 of the 4th Special Operation Squadron found two stranded jet skiers on June 14, 2002.
    four C-130s joined in the firefighting effort in Colorado on June 14, 2002. Two were from the 302 AW (USAFRES) and two were from the 145 AW (North Carolina ANG).
    August 17, 2014 - A Wyoming Air National Guard C-130 had to make an emergency landing while it was on a firefighting mission.
    May 2, 2018 - A WC-130 crashed in Savannah, Georgia killing 5 on board
    July 10, 2017 - A USMC KC-130 crashed and killed 16 on board.
    December 13, 2015 - SrA Jeremy Jutbe-Hake died of a heart attack while serving as a loadmaster on a C-130. The C-130 had an inflight emergency but his death was not related to the emergency.
    July 27, 2014 - A stow away died inside the wheel well of a C-130 that flew from Africa to Germany, with multiple stops.
    July 2, 2012 - A C-130 involved in the firefighting efforts crashed in South Dakota. Killed were Lt. Col. Paul K. Mikeal, Maj. Joseph M. McCormick, Maj. Ryan S. David, and SMSgt. Robert S. Cannon.
    October 29, 2009 - A US Coast Guard C-130 crashed with an AH-1 Super Cobra. The seven on board the C-130 and the crew members of the AH-1 are believed killed.
    March 31, 2005 - The loss of situational awareness caused the crash of a USAF MC-130H Combat Talon II, Serial Number 87-0127, crashed and killed 9 crew members. Those killed were:
    Captain Todd R. Bracy, Captain James S. Cronin, Captain Gil C. Williamson, Captain Surender D. Kothakota, 1st Lt. Ray C. Owens Jr., Chief Master Sgt. Lawrence B. Gray, Tech. Sgt. James R. Henry, Staff Sgt. Patrick R. Pentico, Tech. Sgt. Glenn P. Lastes
    June 30, 2003 - An Algerian C-130 crashed. Four crew members and four others died in the crash.
    On June 25, 2003 an Iranian C-130 crashed. The crash killed seven people.
    On August 7, 2002 a USAF Special Operations Command MC-130H crashed in Puerto Rico. Ten Air Force members died in the crash. Link to Casualty List
    June 17, 2002 - A Hawkins & Powers Aviation, Inc. C-130 crashed while on a fire fighting mission. Steven Ray Wass (pilot), Craig LaBare (co-pilot), and Michael Davis (crewman) died in the crash.

    USAF C-130s had 3 Class A mishaps in FY-2002. There were no USAF C-130 Class A mishaps in FY-2003.
