July 2012 - RAF 617 Squadron returned from a 4 month tour in Afghanistan, having flown 600 missions.
April 2012 - RAF 617 Squadron flew a 7hr, 45 minute mission in support of British and UK ground forces that were under attack.

September 5, 2002 - Four RAF Tornados struck targets in Iraq. Tornado F3s provided fighter escort for the mission. Tornados also flew reconnaissance for the mission.
September 10, 2001 - RAF GR-4s participated in air strikes.
February 16, 2001 - 6 RAF Tornadoes were involved in an air strike.
August 10, 2001 - 4 RAF Tornadoes participated in an air strike.
December 30, 1998 - Iraqis fired at least 6 SAMs at RAF Tornadoes, all missed.
18 GR1 Tornados (No 12 Squadron RAF) participated in Operation Desert Fox
A Patriot missile battery shot down an RAF Tornado GR-Mk4A, 9 Squadron, Serial Number ZG710. A contribution factor was the failure of the Tornado's IFF transponder. The accident killed Flight Lieutenant Kevin Barry Main, Pilot, and Flight Lieutenant David Rhys Williams, Navigator.

February 14, 2020 - Huthi forces shot down a Tornado.

March 10, 2010 - Two RAF Tornado F3s intercepted two Russian Blackjack bombers over UK airspace.
June 24, 2008 - Flight Lieutenant James Milmine and Flying Officer Mo Adballah were on a training sortie when their aircraft experienced a malfunction. They received the 'Green Endorsement' flight safety award for their actions. July 2006 - A Tornado, crewed by Squadron Leader Roger Organ and Flight Lieutenant Mark Haley, found John Russell a civilian glider pilot who crashed in the Scottish Highlands.
Two Tornados escorted Ryanair flight FR25 to Prestwick after it received a bomb threat.
Flt Lts Ted Threcapleton & Mark 'Ginge' Wilson, in an F3, rescued a Beechcraft Super King Air that lost all its flight management systems.
July 4, 2012 - Two RAF Tornado GR4s crashed in the Moray Firth. Flight Lieutenant Hywel Poole, Squadron Leader Samuel Bailey and Flight Lieutenant Adam Sanders were killed, a fourth crew member survived.
