WHY THE U.S. FOUGHT

On September 11, 2001 19 terrorists hijacked 4 US jetliners. They crashed two of the jetliners into the World Trade Center, destroying 4 buildings, including the twin towers. They crashed another jetliner into the Pentagon. The 4th jetliner, United Airlines Flight UA93, crashed in Somerset County, PA. The plane crashed as some of the victims attempted to take back control of the Boeing 757 from the terrorists. This heroic effort prevented the terrorists from crashing the doomed plane into another crowded 'target'. Those involved in this heroic effort included Jeremy Glick, Thomas Burnett, and Mark Binngham.
3,003 people died in these attacks. The Pentagon dead were:
21 Soldiers, 47 Army civilians, and 6 Army contractors
33 Sailors and 9 Navy civilians
8 Civilians from other Defense Agencies
The USAF dedicated a building at WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio to Reserve Maj. LeRoy W. Homer Jr. who was killed while serving as the first officer on United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, PA.


[U.S.] July 4, 2002 - Hesham Mohamed Hedayet opened fire at the El Al ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. The Hadayet fatally wounded Yakov Aninov and Victoria Hen and wounded seven others an Haim Sapir of El Al security killed him. Sapir was one of those wounded in the struggle.
[Pakistan] Terrorists kidnapped and murdered Wall Street Journal reported Danny Pearl.
[Pakistan] A terrorist attacked a Christian Church during services. The terrorist killed Barbara Green and Kristen Wormsley in the attack. An Afghan and a Pakistani also died in the attack. An unidentified person also died in the attack. He may have been the Terrorist.
[Peru] March 20, 2002 a car bomb outside the US Embassy killed 9 people in Lima, Peru.
[Tunisia] A truck explosion at a Synagogue. The blast killed 16 people, 11 of the dead were German tourists. Nizarbin Mohammed Nawar drove the truck.
[Philippines] Bombs killed 14 people in General Santos.
[Pakistan] May 8, 2002 a bomb killed 11 French Engineers and three others.
[Pakistan] June 14, 2002 a homicide bomber killed 10 people outside the US Consulate in Pakistan. The attack wounded 45 others including a US Marine.
[Saudi Arabia] A car bomb in Saudi Arabia killed Simon John Veness, a Briton, on June 20, 2002.
[Pakistan] On July 13, 2002 a grenade attack in Pakistan wounded 13 people, nine of them Europeans.
[Pakistan] On August 5, 2002 terrorists opened fire on a school for missionary children. The attack killed six Pakistanis.
[Pakistan] On August 9, 2002 terrorists attacked a Christian hospital killing three nurses and wounding 25. One of the attackers died.
[Philippines] On August 20, 2002 terrorists kidnapped six Jehovah's Witnesses. On August 22, 2002 they beheaded Lemuel Bantolo and Leonel Mantic. The other four captives are Emily Mantic, Cleofe Bantolo, Flora Bantolo, and Nori Bendijo.
[Afghanistan] Two incidents on September 5, 2002. Two assassins tried to kill Afghan President Hamid Karza. US Special Forces killed both assassins. The assassin wounded a US soldier and the Kandahar governor. A bombing in a market place killed 16 people and wounded 150.
[Pakistan] On September 25, 2002 terrorists killed seven members of Idare-e Amn-O-Insaf (Organization for Peace and Justice), a Christian Charity, they left another member of the organization paralyzed and beat another member.

[Gulf of Aden] On October 6, 2002 a fishing boat rammed the French supertanker Limburg. A sailor drowned. The explosion and fire caused extensive damage to the tanker.
[Indonesia] On October 12, 2002 terrorists bombed the Sari Club and Paddy's Bar. The bombing killed seven Americans and injured four1. The bombing killed about 195 others. These include:

[Finland] On October 12, 2002 a suicide bomber exploded a bomb in a shopping mall in Vantaa. The bomb killed six and injured 80.
[Phillipines] Two explosions at a shopping mall, one in a Shop-O-Rama, in Zambango killed six and wounded 150. Police found and defused seven other devices.
[Phillipines] An explosion on a bus in the Manila suburbs killed three and injured 22.
[Pakistan] An explosion on October 20, 2002 outside the Kamra Cantt Bazaar killed Saima Bibi (11) and wounded 20 others.
*[US] During October 2002 A sniper has fired 14 shots at people in and around Washington, DC. The sniper has killed 10 and wounded three. On October 24, 2002 the police arrested John Allen Muhammad (aka John Allen Williams) and his step son John Lee Malvo. Police believe they are also involved in other shooting incidents that left four people dead and one woman wounded. The police believe they were also involved in two shooting incidents at the Temple Beth El synagogue on May 1 & 4. John Lee Malvo confessed they were involved in four earler shootings
[Jordan] Terrorists shot Lawrence Foley of the US Agency for International Development dead.
*[Lebanon] On November 20, 2002 someone shot Bonnie Penner, a missionary/nurse, to death.
[Nigeria] In November 2002, rioters destroyed 4,500 homes, 22 churches, 8 mosques, and a newspaper office. The riots left 215 dead, 1,100 injured, and 12,000 homeless.
[Kenya] November 28, 2002 three suicide bombers with a Mitsubishi Pajero bombed the Paradise Hotel north of Mombasa. The bombing killed three Israelis and 10 Kenyans.
[Indonesia] December 5, 2002 a bombing at a McDonalds and a car dealership killed two and injured 2.
[Pakistan] On December 5, 2002 terrorists killed three people and blew up the office of Honorary Consul General of Macedonia. The dead included security guard Hameed Masih.
[Yemen] On December 30, 2002 a terrorist attacked the Jibal Baptist Hospital with a rifle and killed William E. Koehn, Kathleen A. Gariety, and Dr. Martha C. Myers. The attacker also wounded Pharmacist Donald W. Caswell.
[Pakistan] On Christmas Day, 2002 terrorsts launched a grenade attack on a Presbyterian church during services. The attack killed Shumaila Maish (8), Najma (2), and Razia (13) and wounded 16 others.
[Philippines] On Christmas Eve, 2002 terrorists killed 17 outside the home of a town's mayor on Mindanao.
[Philippines] December 26, 2002 terrorists ambushed and killed 12 workers for a Canadian company. The attacks wounded 10 others.
[Philippines] January 28, 2003 an 81mm mortar with a timing device exploded when Sgt. Herminio Belata tried to defuse it. Sgt Belata lost a hand and 15 other people were injured in the blast.
[Afghanistan] On January 31, 2003 terrorists blew up the Rambasi bridge with a civilian bus on it. The explosion killed 18 civilians.1
[Philippines] February 19, 2003 a raid on a farming village killed 14 and wounded three. Three others are missing. A pair of explosions killed Cpl. Nelson Corpuz and wounded nine. A bomber was killed when one of the bombs exploded prematurely.
[Philippines] March 4, 2003 a backpack bomb at the Davao Airport killed 21, including William P. Hyde (American), and wounded 146, including Barbara Stephens and her two children Sara and Nathan.
*[Kuwait] Sgt. Asan Akbar, a member of the 101st Airborne Division attacked other US solders with grenades. The attack killed a soldier, an airman, and wounded 12 others. Sgt. Asan Akbar was also injured in the attack.
[Saudi Arabia] A US civilian who worked at a naval base was shot three times.
[Saudi Arabia] On May 12, 2003 shootings and suicide bombings in four separate placed killed 25 people. Nine terrorists died in the attack. The victims include Mohammed Abdullah Al-Blaihed, Jihad Dalloul, and Oday Al-Sadek. The victims by Nationality were:

[Yemen] On May 14, 2003, A bomb exploded in a courthouse in San'a injured a judge and a number of other people.
[Pakistan] On May 15, 2003, Small bombs exploded 21 small bombs at petrol stations in Karachi (19 Shell, 2 Caltex). The bombs slightly injured a customer, three attendants, and a security guard.
[Morocco] May 16, 2003 - Five explosions set by 13 suicide bombers went off in Casablanca. The explosions killed 28 people. The dead included two Spaniards, two Italians, and two French. A 14th suicide bomber survived.
[Pakistan] July 11, 2003 - An explosion in a 12 story building housing international bussinesses killed two people.
[Indonesia] August 5, 2003 - Asmar Latin Sani drove a car bomb into the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta killed 10 people, including Dutch citizen Hans Winkelmolen and wounded 149 others.
[Saudi Arabia] November 8, 2003 - A terrorist assault in Riyadh killed an Indian and a Sudanese security guard, a Lebanese woman and two Lebanese children (5 & 3), an Egyptian man, Ali Raghab, his spouse and two children (Omar 8, Ahmed 4), and eight others. The attack also wounded 122 others.
[Turkey] November 15, 2003 - Mesut Cabuk & Gakken Elatuntas exploded car bombs outside two synagogues in Istanbul. They killed 23 (6 Jews, 14 Muslims) and wounded 300.
[Turkey] November 20, 2003 - Suicide bombers exploded car bombs Istanbul, Ilyas Kumcak exploded one at the London-based HSBC Bank and another bomber exploded one at the British Consulate, killed 27 and wounded 450. The Consulate bombing killed four British Citizen including Consul General Roger Short and his personal assistant Lisa Hallworth and 12 others including Turkish national Hulya Domez.
[Spain] March 11, 2004 - A series of 13 bombs on commuter trains killed 190 and wounded over 1,600. Two more bombs were found and defused. The blast took place 911 days after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
[Saudi Arabia] April 21, 2004 - Car bomb attacks near the Security Headquarters killed six police officers and four civilians.
[Kosovo] Ahmed Mustafa Ibrahim Ali, a Jordanian member of the UN police force in Kosovo opened fire on other members of the police force killing two employees of DynCorp.
[Saudi Arabia] Terrorists opened fire in an oil contractor's office. The attack killed six. (2 Americans, 2 Britons, 1 Australian, and 1 Saudi Arabian) Saudi Authorities killed four terrorists in a shootout.
[Pakistan] A bombing and shooting incident in Quetta killed 29 Muslim worshipers and wounded 150 others.
[Pakistan] A car bomb killed Hao Ghuangchun, Zhou Xuemeng, Gho Qihong and wounded 9 other Chinese nationals, the Pakistani driver, and the Pakistani security guard.
[Pakistan] A car bomb exploded within 100 yards of the U.S. Consul's residence and another car bomb exploded within 200 yards of the U.S. Consulate. The attack killed Constable Jehangir and wounded 33 people, including 12 police officers. (May 26, 2004)
[Saudi Arabia] May 29, 2004 - A terrorist shooting rampage left 17 dead. The dead included:
8 Indians, 3 Filipino, 3 Saudi Arabian, 2 Sri Lankans, 1 American, 1 Briton, 1 Italian, 1 Swede, 1 South African, and a 10 year old Egyptian.
[Saudi Arabia] June 7, 2004 - A drive by shooting killed Irish camerman Simon Cumbers and wounded BBC journalist Frank Gardner.
[Saudi Arabia] June 8, 2004 - Terrorists shot American Robert Jacobs to death.
[Saudi Arabia] June 12, 2004 - Terrorists shot American Kenneth Scroggs to death.
[Saudi Arabia] June 18, 2004 - Terrorists kidnapped (June 13, 2004) then murdered American Paul Marshal Johnson.
[Turkey] June 24, 2004 - A terrorist exploded herself on a bus and killed three other people. A bomb went off outside a Hilton Hotel and wounded two people.
[Uzbekistan] July 30, 2004 - Suicide bombers carried out simultaneous attacks against the U.S. and Israeli Embassies. The attack against the Israeli Embassy killed two Uzbek security guards and wounded seven others. The attack against the U.S. Embassy wounded two police officers.
[Turkey] On August 10, 2004 bombs exploded at two tourist hotels and a gas plant. The bombings killed 2 and injured 7.
[Russia] August 26, 2004 - Terrorist destroyed a Sibir Tu-154 and a Volga-Aviaeypress Tu-134 in flight killing 89 people. There was apparently a diversionary bombing at an airport that wounded four.
[Russia] August 31, 2004 - A suicide bomber exploded a car in Moscow and killed 10 and wounded 51.
[Russia] September 1, 2004 - Terrorists captured a school killed 326 people and wounded 727, including 218 children.
[Indonesia] September 9, 2004 - A car bomb near the Australian Embassy killed 8 and wounded 161. The dead included three police officers and one security guard.
[Pakistan] October 1, 2004 - A suicide bomber killed 15 in a mosque in Islamabad.
[Pakistan] October 8, 2004 - A bombing in Multan killed 39 in a mosque.
[Egypt] October 8, 2004 - Bombing attacks against the Taba Hilton and Ras-a-Satan killed 23 (14 Israelis and 9 Egyptians) and wounded 160.
[France] October 8, 2004 - A bombing outside the Indonesian Embassy in Paris wounded a number of people.
[The Netherlands] November 2, 2004 - Filmaker Theo van Gogh was shot and stabbed to death. He made the film "Submission".
[Saudi Arabia] December 6, 2004 - Terrorists attacked the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah and killed a security guard and four others. Four other people were wounded in the attack. Security forces killed four terrorists and captured one.
[Pakistan] December 10, 2004 - Terrorists set off a bicycle bomb in Quetta. The bomb killed 1 soldier and 9 civilians. It also destroyed four vehicles.
[Philippines] December 12, 2004 - A bomb went off in a market place in General Santos City. It killed 13 and wounded 52.
[Philippines] February 14, 2005 - A series of bomb blasts killed 11 and wounded 130.
[Lebanon] February 14, 2005 - A bomb killed 15 including the former Prime Minister Rafile Hariri.
[Lebanon] March 23, 2005 - A bomb killed three and wounded four in the Alta Vista center Kaslick, Joenich. The dead included an Indian and a Sri Lankan.
[Egypt] April 7, 2005 - A bomb attack at the Khan al-Khalili Bazaar killed a French woman and wounded 18 others.
[Afghanistan] May 16, 2005 - A false report by Newsweek magazine that U.S. interrogators in Cuba desecrated a Koran set of mass rioting that killed 16.
[Pakistan] May 27, 2005 - A suicide bomber at the Bari Imam Shrine outside Islamabad killed 20.
[Pakistan] June 6, 2005 - Rioters burned a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Islamabad. Six people died in the blaze.
[England] July 7, 2005 - Mohammed Sadique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Hasib Hussain, & Lindsey Germail blew themselves up. Three bombs went off in the London underground and another bomb went off on a London commuter bus. They killed at least 52 and wounded over 700. Casualty figure includes one American killed but does not kill the four suicide bombers. British authorities found two unexploded bombs.
[Egypt] July 22, 2005 - A series of explosions went off in Sharm el-Sheik. The bombs killed 88 people in this resort town. Most of the dead were Egyptians. The dead among the foreign nationals included 2 Italians, 1 UK national, and one Czech.
[Thailand] August 17, 2005 - A bomb in a Buddhist temple killed a security guard and wounded 8.
[Bangladesh] August 17, 2005 - Over 100 bombs went of killing a 10 year-old boy and a rickshaw driver, and wounding 125 people.
[Indonesia] October 1, 2005 - Three suicide bombers attacked restaurants and tourist resorts and killed 26 and wonded 101. The dead included 12 Indonesians, 1 Japanese, and an Australian. The wounded included 49 Indonesians, 17 Australians, 6 Koreans, and 4 Japanese.
The Australian Dead were; Brandon Firzgerald, Jennifer Williamson, Colin Zwolinski and Fiona Zwolinski.
[France - Belgium - Germany] - October 27 - November 2005 rioting killed one person and caused extensive property damage.
[Jordan] - November 9, 2005 - Suicide bombings against the Grand Hyatt, Radisson SAS and Days Inn hotels in Amman. The attacks killed at 60 and wounded 115. One bomb, worn by Sajida Mubarak Atrous, failed to detonate. Her spouse Safan Mohammed Ali was one of the suicide bombers. He was captured by U.S. forces in November 2004 in Iraqi, held for two weeks, then released. Those killed included; 33 Jordanians, 6 Iraqis, 4 Palistinians, 3 Chinese, 2 Bahraninis, 1 Indonesian, 1 Saudi Arabian, and 2 Americans. The Palistinians killed were:
Maj Gen Bashir Nafeh, head of Palistinian Intelligence, Colonel Abed Allun, Jihad Fattouh, and Mosab Khoma
The Americans killed were Moustapha Akkad and Rima Akkad Monla. Moustapha Akkad was a movie director and producer best known for the Halloween genre.
[Pakistan] - November 12, 2005 - A bomb outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Karachi killed three and wounded 12.
[Australia] - December 11 - 13, 2005 rioting broke out in Australian cities.
[Worldwide] - February, 2006 - rioting broke out in numerous countries because of a blasphemous cartoon. The rioting resulted in at least 71 deaths. (43 in Nigeria, 10 in Libya, 10 in Afghanistan, 5 Pakistan, 1 in Lebanon, 1 in Turkey) In Pakistan rioters destroyed five buildings that housed two banks, a hotel, a KFC, a Norweigan Cell Phone Company, and a bus terminal run by DAEWOO corporation. Imam Mohammed Yousaf Qureshi placed a $1,025,000 and a car bounty on the cartoonist(s).
[Saudi Arabia] February 24, 2006 - Suicide bombers attacked the Abqaiq oil facility. The attackers killed two security guards. Security guards killed four attackers.
[Pakistan] - April 11, 2006 - A suicide car bomber at a park full of worshipers in Karachi killed 56.
[India] - April 14, 2006 - A grenade attack killed five people and wounded 18.
[Turkey] - April 16, 2006 - A bomb in Istanbul injured 31.
[Egypt] - April 24, 2006 - Three bombs in Dahab killed 21 people and wounded 80. The dead included 18 Egyptians, a Russian, a German, and a Swiss National. The explosions were at the Al Capone restaurant, outside a supermarket, and near a bridge.
[Egypt] - April 26, 2006 - Three suicide bombings against peacekeepers in the Sinai wounded 4 Egyptian police officers.
[Turkey] - May 17, 2006 - A gunman opened fire during a session of the Council of State and wounded five judges including Mustafa Birden and Mustafa Yucel Ozbilgin.
[India] - July 11, 2006 - Seven bombs went off on Bombay trains killing 200 and wounding 700.
[U.S.] - July 28, 2006 - A shooting at the Jewish Federation's office in Seattle killed one, and wounded five. Naveed Afzal Haq is being held for questioning.
[Pakistan] - August 2006 - Teimar Wazir, 14, was kidnapped and murdered, apparently because his brother worked for the BBC.
*[U.S.] - August 29, 2006 - Omeed A. Popal was arrested for killing one person and wounding over a dozen with an SUV.
[Syria] September 12, 2006 - Terrorists attempted to attack the U.S. Embassy in Damascus. Syrian security forces killed three of the terrorists and captured the fourth. The terrorists killed a member of the Syrian forces.
[Yemen] September 15, 2006 - Four Terrorists attempted to bomb an Oil Refinery and a Canadian-Yemeni oil storage facility. The four terrorists and one Yemini security guard died in the attack.
[Somalia] September 17, 2006 - Gunmen killed, sister Leonella Sgorbati, an Italian nun and her bodyguard in Mogadishu apparently as retaliation for a remark made by Pope Benedict XVI.
[Iraq] October 2006 - In Mosul a priest was beheaded as retaliation for a remark made by Pope Benedict XVI.
[Philippines] October 10, 2006 - A bombing killed 12 in Cotabata.
*[U.S.] February 13, 2007 - Sulejmen Talovic shot and killed five people in a Utah shopping mall before being killed by police.
[Algeria] April 11, 2007 - Twin bombings in Algeris at the Prime Minister's office and a police station killed 24 and wounded 222.
[Algeria] December 11, 2007 - Twin bombings in Algeris at UN offices and Algeria��s Constitutional Council killed 52 people.
[Yemen] May 2, 2008 - A motorcycle borne explosive device killed 18 people outside a mosque. The bombing wounded about 50 others.
[Turkey] July 9, 2008 - A assault on a police guard post outside the US Consulate in Istanbul killed three police officers. Officers killed three of the terrorists.
[India] July 26, 2008 - A bombing in AHMADABAD killed 45.
[Algeria] August 19, 2008 - A suicide bomber crashed a VBIED into a police academy killing 43.
[Yemen] September 17, 2008 - Terroists killed 11 people in an attack near the US Embassy which included a car bomb. Six terrorists died in the attack.
[Pakistan] September 20, 2008 - A VBIED outside a Marriott Hotel in Islamabad killed 53. Two DoD service members died in the blast.
[Syria] September 27, 2008 - A VBIED outside a residential street in Damascus killed 17 and wounded more than a dozen.
[India] November 26, 2008 - Azam Amir Kasab, and 9 other terrorists, attacked Mumbai. Targets included the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, the Trident-Oberoi, the main railway station, a popular restaurant and a cinema and a Jewish center. The terrorists attacked with bombs, grenades, and automatic weapons killed 195 and wounded over 200.
[USA] June 1, 2009 - William Long, USA, shot and killed outside a recruiting station in Little Rock, AR. Another soldier was wounded in the shooting. Mujahid Muhammad aks Carlos Bledsoe was arrested as a suspect.
[Indonesia] July 17, 2009 - Bombs at the Marriot and Ritz-Carlton in Jakarta killed 7, not including the two bombers, and wounded 50.
[USA] - November 5, 2009 - Army Major (Dr.) Nidal Malik Hasan killed 13 people and wounded 31 others at Fort Hood, Texas. Officer Kimberly Munley shot and wounded him, ending the rampage. Officer Munley was also wounded in the exchange. The dead include:

[Russia] - March 29, 2010 - Dzhennet Abdurakhmanova and another suicide bombers attacked the the Moscow subway killing 40. The bombs went of at Lubyanka station and Park Kultury.
[Palestine] A remote control bomb destroyed a Jeep Cherokee in a US embassy convoy. The blast killed John Branchizio, Mark T. Parson, and John Martin Linde Jr. of DynCorp and wounded another DynCorp employee. (October 15, 2003)
[Phillipines] - June 24, 2010 - Terrorists attacked commuters, killing 4 and wounded 6.
[Uganda] - July 11, 2010 - Terrorists bombed two bars in Kampala while people were watching the World Cup games, 64 people died in the blast.
[Indonesia] - September 12, 2010 - Assailants stabbed Asia Sihombing, a Christian, and struck Rev. Luspida Simanjuntak, a Christian minister, in the head with a wooden plank.
[Sweden] - December 11, 2010 - A suicide bomber set off two bombs in a shopping center in Stockholm. Two people were injured in the attack.
[Nigeria] - December 24, 2011 - A series of Christmas Eve bombing in Jos killed 32 and 74 wounded.
[Egypt] - January 1, 2011 - A bomb at a Coptic Christian church during a New Year's Day mass killed 21 in Alexandria.
[Russia] - January 24, 2011 - A suicide bomber at Moscow's Domodedovo airport killed 35.
[India] - July 13, 2011 - Three bombs in Mombai killed 19 people.
[Pakistan] - August 13, 2011 - Warren Weinstein was kidnapped.
